Jamie is the best aunt

When Jamie was alive, I loved to look at her smile. It was the best smile I ever saw! We loved to spend time together. When I found out that she was having twins, I was so happy for Paul and Jamie. When I first saw them they were so cute and handsome. Their names are John and Larkin. My family and I watch them grow up. Then a year later, they were having another girl. While I was at camp, Jamie was eating dinner. She did not feel good, so they took her to the hospital and gave her medicine, but it did not work. So they had to take the baby out and she died right there. The month or two after she died it was so hard to believe that it happened. Giving life to the new baby girl (named Reagan) was the last thing Jamie did. Reagan, John, Larkin, Paul and Jamie are the best. Before this happened, Jamie and Paul would have us over many times. We would play with the kids, have a dance party, eat pizza, and get our nails done. I am so happy to have an Aunt and Uncle like that. We still have sleep-overs at our house with the kids. I am still not used to not seeing Jamie. I really miss her beautiful smile.

I want Paul to know, he has a great future ahead of him and with the kids.

I struggled to submit this post all day (I shed many tears). Jamie and Lindsay had a special bond from the moment they met each other. One of the first times Jamie met Lindsay the three of us were sitting at a table in the basement of Tom (my brother) & Stacey’s townhouse and Lindsay started talking about a boy that was in her class (Lindsay was around 7 yrs old at the time). Lindsay told Jamie, “you know, I get anxiety when he starts talking to me…” and from that moment on she had stolen Jamie’s heart. Jamie had a special affection for Lindsay and Lindsay adored her Aunt Jamie. Lindsay is one of the most kind and genuine girls you will ever meet and Jamie knew that from the moment she met her.

Thank you Lindsay for posting your thoughts and for being the amazing girl, niece, and cousin that you are. I love you very much.

    Your Uncle Paulie

    Lindsay,

This was so beautiful and very touching to read. I started to cry immediately at your first sentence. Jamie did have a beautiful smile and I love that you loved that about her. You did have a very special relationship with Jamie and I know that she loved immensely. She often told me how she admired what a sensitive and caring person you are, and I know she truly did feel a special connection with you.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and feelings. However painful, it is always nice to read about how touched each of our lives.

You are a wonderful, wonderful person Lindsay Kindem.

    With love,
    Kat
